introducing Jacques

I always knew the world needed more people like Alex and Alicia - positive, enthusiastic, encouraging, warm hearted, the list goes on and on - and now the world gets Jacques - their beautiful son. It's a great feeling watching your friends interact with their new baby. Their pride and excitement is so heartwarming. He's a lucky boy. 

It has to be our year

I think she's lighting the way to sweet victory.
First place in the Western Conference.
President's Trophy for top team in the league.
Team captain has the Art Ross Trophy and the Hart Memorial Trophy on his mantle.
My Grandma has been a lifelong fan and is now 100. She deserves it.
It is time to bring....it.....home.
Playoffs begin tomorrow.
There's nothing like Vancouver at playoff time.

Crescent Beach Stroll

Sun is a precious commodity these days, so when it hits, I have to get to the beach. We went for an amazing sunset stroll. The thing I love about the beach, aside from the jaw dropping beauty of it all, is that you never know what you will find. In the top photo, I love how the dog turned around at just the right moment. (If only I had photoshop, I would have cropped the random legs out of the photo). As for that trio of cat photos, I just loved how her colouring blended with the texture and tone of the wood. Looking at the forecast this week, I think we'll have to savour ever last ounce of sun we got today.

100!

It's hard to believe that i'm already 100 photos into this 365 project. When you first begin a 365, it feels completely daunting, especially on nights where you work late, hit the gym and the last thing you feel like doing is thinking up a photo op. But once you get into the swing of things, it does become habit forming. I find it's been a really good exercise in discipline, but more importantly it is so creatively challenging. I definitely find it is soul fulfilling. I hope you have a hobby that brings out the truest form of you.

I hope you are having a great weekend! Don't you just love Saturdays? Sleeping in, ah-mazing leisurely breakfast, exercise, quality time with my love, socializing - yep, bliss. I hope you got to marinate in some happiness today.

Happy Friday all you lovelies. In Vancouver today, it was sunny, blossoms were in full bloom everywhere. It's one of those beautiful days where the white capped mountains serve as the perfect backdrop, everything just sparkles. Of course, none of those photos are here. I forgot my camera at home. But, these images capture the happiness I felt today. It's funny, I'm a terrible decision maker (pause for shock) and each day have to pick one photo to submit to Flickr for my 365. I chose the first one of the balloons simply because it is symbolic of how the day felt. I hope you have a fun weekend ahead! 

spring listing

My parents just listed their home after 24 years of enjoying it. I'm really excited for them to find a new space to call their own. I am definitely sentimental about seeing our family home go - it's where my brother and I both got married (not to each other - gross!! :) . The yard (pictured above) is very much like a park: one acre with a creek running through it. But I know the time is right for them - it's too big to maintain and they should use the money to buy a smaller home and travel. It's funny, as soon as the sign was propped up, people started stopping their cars. One couple stood out front for an hour. I know it will be snapped up quickly and we're all definitely going to miss it. It's been one of those milestone days.
