Happy Friday!

Happy Friday all you lovelies. In Vancouver today, it was sunny, blossoms were in full bloom everywhere. It's one of those beautiful days where the white capped mountains serve as the perfect backdrop, everything just sparkles. Of course, none of those photos are here. I forgot my camera at home. But, these images capture the happiness I felt today. It's funny, I'm a terrible decision maker (pause for shock) and each day have to pick one photo to submit to Flickr for my 365. I chose the first one of the balloons simply because it is symbolic of how the day felt. I hope you have a fun weekend ahead! 

spring listing

My parents just listed their home after 24 years of enjoying it. I'm really excited for them to find a new space to call their own. I am definitely sentimental about seeing our family home go - it's where my brother and I both got married (not to each other - gross!! :) . The yard (pictured above) is very much like a park: one acre with a creek running through it. But I know the time is right for them - it's too big to maintain and they should use the money to buy a smaller home and travel. It's funny, as soon as the sign was propped up, people started stopping their cars. One couple stood out front for an hour. I know it will be snapped up quickly and we're all definitely going to miss it. It's been one of those milestone days.

I snapped these photos on my walk from my friend's place downtown to the Canada Line. I love the soft light of the city at night. In honour of the first photo of David Bowie, I linked up my favourite tune of his here. I love David Bowie on many levels, but mostly for his ability to evolve as an artist. One of the funniest things I've heard about David Bowie is that he was so deeply into drugs that he can't remember a full year of his life.....and during that year he discovered photos of himself meeting the Queen. Ooops.

Sometimes rain can transform the streets into a sweet bokeh display. We have to find some beauty in all of this rain.

River of dreams (flowing through my garden). I'm not trying to be painfully cutesy, that's really what the seed packet was called. When I got home from work, it was teaming with rain. The front garden was as far as I ventured for photos tonight. Ah Mondays, why do you hate us so?
